Bezel

Bezel is the limit between the screen and the frame of a computer monitor, smartphone or any other computing device. Although aesthetically, aesthetic can help to save the material from debris damage, such as the edge of the glass sticking to the glass of the LCD screen. usually, a surrounding bezel is made of a secondary material, such as metal, which is added to protect the glass.

Recently, mobile electronic devices have a tendency in which there is no Bezel. Instead, the device has an edge-to-edge screen that has no visible limit. Because the smartphones have touch interfaces and are mobile in nature, so bezels are usually added to prevent the device's glass from breaking or scattering. However, the choice of consumers has gone at least the physical features, such as the iPhone's Home button, towards devices with the largest screen size possible on the devices front. To maximize the size of the screen for a device, the speaker, microphone, and button have been moved or made into many smartphone designs. To ensure durability, some manufacturers use strong materials like Gorilla Glass.

After the trend of consumer preference, computing device manufacturers are pushing for a sleek, futuristic, bezel-lace design, where there is a screen in front of the entire device. By reducing the boundaries around a screen, the smartphone manufacturer is able to give more to the phone front for its performance, which allows them to present a larger screen in a smaller phone.
