MacBook Air - Apple

The MacBook Air is a slim, light laptop of Apple Apple. Because it is a full size notebook, but weighs only three pounds, the laptop comes in a category that the seller is currently calling 'ultraportable'.

The MacBook Air has anodized aluminum casing, which is 0.16 in the thinest point and 0.76 in the thickest. Often described as a paper pad size, the laptop has just one USB port, an audio headphone jack and a built-in speaker and a microphone. The MacBook Air comes with built-in Bluetooth wireless technology to connect and sync the PDA, cell phone or wireless headset to a laptop. It has an embedded iSight camera which is still capable of taking pictures as well as recording videos.

The MacBook Air does not come with DVD / CD drive. To install software from a disk, the consumer has two options: he can use the remote disk facility to connect wireless to another computer's DVD / CD drive or buy an external MacBook Air SuperDriver, which is sold separately . (SuperDrive is a multi-format CD / DVD read / write drive that plugs into the MacBook Air's single USB port.) Laptop uses Wi-Fi for network / internet connection with 802.11 N wireless networking capabilities. It can only use a wired ethernet connection if the customer buys an optional USB Ethernet adapter.

According to Apple, the MacBook Air battery will last up to five hours, depending on what the computer is doing. The battery itself has been controversial because it is attached to the laptop's aluminum cover and is not replaceable by the user. If the battery reaches the point where no longer charging, then the consumer has to return the computer to replace the battery.

Apple is calling the MacBook Air as an environmentally friendly product, because it consumes less power than other MacBooks, but because it has an aluminum body that can be recycled and an LCD display that is mercury- and Arsenic is free. Apple also promotes the fact that the internal cable polyvinyl chloride is free and the consumer packaging is made from recycled material.
