Safari is the Default Web Browser for OS X and iOS-based devices.

In addition to the usual features for most current browsers, Safari's features include:
  • The Nitro JavaScript engine, said that execution of JS much faster than Internet Explorer or Firefox.
  • RSS feed aggregator.
  • Synchronization of passwords, bookmarks, history, tabs and reading lists via iCloud.
  • A private browsing mode that does not save browsing history or related information.
  • The ability to zoom on web page details
  • Custom style sheets.
  • Integrated Quicktime Multimedia Player
  • The ability to store or email web pages.
  • VoiceOver support, an application that describes the web page content and reads the text.
  • Keyboard-only navigation options
  • A thumbnail display of the most visited sites
  • Apple's keychain identifies management plans for password management.
  • Integration with Apple's iWeb software
Safari was originally released in 2003. The operating system is based on WebKit of Apple, there is an application framework based on two open source frameworks: Webcor and JavaScriptScript. Source code for non-rendering parts of safari are available at all OpenDarwin.org.

IPhone and iPod touch run a customized version of Safari.
