Metadata - SEO

Metadata is the data that describes other data. Meta is a prefix that in most information technology it means "an underlying definition or explanation."

Metadata summarizes basic information about data, which can make it easier to search and work with special examples of data. For example, the author, the date is created and the date modified and the file size are very examples of the original document metadata. Having a repetition of filtering through that metadata makes it easy for a person to find a specific document.

In addition to files, metadata is used for images, videos, spreadsheets and web pages. Using metadata on web pages can be very important. Metadata for web pages is a description of the content of the page, as well as keywords related to the content. These are usually expressed as metatags. Web page details and summary metadata are often displayed in search results by search engines, making its accuracy and description very important as it can determine whether the user decides to go to the site or not. Metatags are often evaluated by the search engine to help determine the relevance of web pages, and by the end of the decade of the 1990s, a search was used as a key factor in determining the position. Due to the increase in search engine optimization (SEO) in the late 1990s, many websites have been "keyword stuffing" due to which their metadata, their websites seem more relevant to others, to deceive search engines. Since then, search engines have reduced their dependency on metatags, although they are still factored when indexing pages. Many search engines try to prevent the ability of web pages to fail in their system to change its ranking regularly, Google is often notorious for changing its highly-unknown ranking algorithms.

Metadata can be made manually or by automatic notification processing. Manual creation is more accurate, allowing the user to input any information they are relevant or necessary to help in describing the file. Generating automatic metadata can be very basic, usually displaying information such as file size, file extension, when the file was created and who created the file.
