Keyword stuffing is considered unethical SEO (search engine optimization) technique best and attack technique is the worst. Practices are often used to drive traffic to fraud or malicious websites.

Keyword stuffing in content is known as spamdexing. Keywords can be hidden in content in a variety of ways, such as background font color, setting font size to zero or behind an image. Words and phrases used for keyword stuffing are usually visible to the reader, but when keywords are hidden, they are often a list of common search phrases, such as sexual terms and celebrity names.

According to Google, keyword stuffing is unethical - and it's also ineffective. Meta tags are no longer used to rank websites, so the keywords kept in that field are ignored. Rapid sophisticated algorithms help Google recognize that when conditions are irrelevant, even when they are used outside or out of context. In addition, if hidden text is detected in the content, then Google may remove a site from its index so that it does not appear exactly in search results.

Google offers some advice:
  • Putting pages with keywords is a negative user experience, and can damage your site's ranking.
  • Focus on creating useful, information-rich content that uses keywords in proper and contextual terms.
