Adobe Buzzword

Adobe Buzzword is a free, web-based word processor similar to Google Docs in which documents are made online, edited and stored. Files can be accessed from any laptop, computer with an internet connection and a full featured web browser. Buzzword is a virtual Ubiquity building company based in Waltham, Massachusetts. In October 2007, Adobe acquired Virtual Ubiquity.

Adobe Buzzword resembles Microsoft Word. A streamlined interface allows the user to create, edit, modify and format text, use multiple font S, take advantage of keyboard shortcuts, insert images and export files to Microsoft Word. Text can be composed and it can be moved so that it flows around images and tables. One of the most important features of the buzzword coined after WYSIWYG is called WYSIWYP, which is "print what you see." The purpose of the WYSIWYP feature is to solve a problem that has caused users of the word processor to change the computer's typewriter ever since: Printouts are often different from their on-screen counterparts.

The online nature of Buzzword gives it remarkable advantages and disadvantages. The application can be ideal for collaborative projects, in which many authors work together geographically diverse locations. Because the documents are stored online and can be stored on the users' computers, there is no risk of total data loss as a result of localized devastation. However, the Internet-based nature of the program has raised concerns among some authors that their work can not be private or secure.
