DuckDuckGo (DDG) is a common search engine designed to protect users privacy, while personal searches (sometimes referred to as filter bubbles) may be due to avoiding the diabolism of search results.

DuckDuckGo does not track users - User IP addresses and other information are not logged. A log of the entered search terms is maintained but the words are not associated with particular users. Because DuckDuckGo does not record user information, it does not have any data to turn on any third party organizations.

Unlike Google, DuckDuckGo does not default to personal search, which searches for results based on user-related information, such as location, preferences, and history. Users can, for example, choose to promote results based on locality, but they will not be done unless they specify that they want it to happen. Results from content mills are also filtered from search engine results pages (SERP).

DuckDuckGo is sometimes referred to as a hybrid search engine because it compiles the outcome of its partnership with other search providers, including its own crawler, DuckDuckBot, crowded sites like Wikipedia and Yahoo! .

Quick answers, which appear at the top of the results page, are available for queries with many types of searches, including a wide variety of flight status, recipes, words, calculations, and statistics. Quick answers also include functions, such as stopwatch and a strong password generator.

The blame feature allows users to find a particular website. Before a search term "Facebook!" Typing, for example, restricts the results found on that site.

DuckDuckGo was founded in September 2008 by Gabriell Weinberg. At the beginning funded by Weinberg, the search engine received $ 3 million in venture capital in 2011 and is now supported by keyword-based advertising. The company is headquartered in Paoli, Pennsylvania.

DuckDuckGo is available in most browsers, including Firefox, Chrome and Safari.
