Google Play Protect

Google Play Protect is a malware protection and detection service designed for Android devices using Google Mobile Services. Google Play Protect scans for malicious applications on android devices and removes people who have potentially harmful software. The user is also warned about apps that violate the unwanted software policy by hiding important information or misrepresenting it.

Applications are automatically checked when installed and periodically scanned in the background. Users can also start a scan directly. On one device, the Google Play Protector is found by opening the Play Store and selecting "My Apps and Games".

When an app is found to be potentially harmful, then the Android user will receive a notification and option to uninstall the application. Many times, Google Play Protect will also disable such apps and prevent them from running until uninstalled. In addition, specially related applications can be removed automatically, in which case the user is notified.

With malware detection, there are two other key features of the Google Play Protect. Find My Device Tool can display the location of your Android device and It can lock the device, sign the user out of their Google account or delete it altogether. Secondly, Google Play Protect's Safe Browsing feature monitors web browsing through the device's Chrome browser to detect malicious activity from websites. When it detects a site that can display discrete web practices, it warns the user that they may wish to not proceed further on the site.
